Last week Monday we had a worship service for young and old alike, to just come and worship side-by-side. The aim we have with these worship services is bridge building between the generations, and for all the young adults, youth, children and their parents who make up this ministry to come and worship together once a month.
So apart from this being a report of the service that just passed, this is also an invitation for you to come join us at our next service to be held on 14 November 2011, where we’ll be coming to report back on what happened while we were in Namibia.
Last week’s service we started off by singing some of the children and youth group’s favourite songs. We had to move some of the chairs and move out into the open spaces, because some of these songs required some movement and rightly so! Then we looked at the amazing rich blessings available to us, in a relationship with Jesus. These blessings include, Peace, Joy and Love – these three rich blessings cannot be separated, and our passage of Scripture came from Romans 5:1-8, with an emphasis on verse 1-2; Peace with God, verse 3-5 Joy in Christ no matter what our circumstances, and finally verse 6-8 which says, ‘God demonstrates His own love for us in this, while we were still sinners Christ died for us’. And from this passage of scripture we concluded that in a relationship with Jesus, our peace, joy and love is not founded in our circumstances, but grounded in the fact that our God chose to love us unconditionally – conditions do not determine whether I have peace, or joy or love, because our God is an unconditional God.
We had a wonderfully blessed time and I pray that you would be able to join us when we meet together again next time.
